Kyokushin around the world
Born in Japan, the Kyokushin spread across all continents to become one of the most practiced karate styles in the world.
East Asia remains the cradle of the style, but since the 1960s Kyokushin has spread throughout Europe, the Americas, Africa and Oceania through pioneers trained or inspired by Oyama.
Today, several federations share this legacy. The WKO Shinkyokushinkai, the line of our club, is the largest, with almost 100 000 members in more than 100 countries and regular world championships.
